Santiago (Sandy) Barros is an Engineer with the Scientific Research Department at the Florida Department of Citrus in Lake Alfred. His experience includes 5 years with FMC and 33 years with the FDOC.
Sandy’s current areas of responsibilities include the product monitoring program, juice processing and health and nutrition research. He is the staff liaison to the Citrus Harvesting Research Advisory Council and the State Test House Upgrade Committee.
In the past Sandy has worked in the areas of fresh squeezed juice, grapefruit juice quality improvement, product development, juice quality and yield as well as being a member of the state test sampler program.
Sandy holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida.
