Oranges, grapefruits and tangerines contain vitamin C, fiber, folate and other nutritious nutritionally beneficial components. Vitamin C, for example, helps support your immune system and diets high in vitamin C may help reduce the risk of certain diseases. Also, diets high in fiber may help lower cholesterol and help with digestion. Other important elements in fresh citrus and citrus juices include carotenoids such as lycopene, minerals such as potassium and magnesium, polyphenols/flavonoids such as hesperidin and naringin, and vitamins such as B6 and thiamin.
